Do you remember "Stranger Danger" from elementary school? You know: Don't talk to strangers, Don't get into a car with someone you don't know, Don't take candy from a stranger, Have a safe word with your parents... that kind of stuff. What about the new generation? Should we be updating our Stranger Danger education with internet-relevant topics?

Social Media Meltdown #16: Using Social Media to Build a Blog Following
Share: Tweet
Tonight we broadcasted our very first show live through Google+. In the past we were using LiveStream but in attempts to shorten the duration you have to wait to watch each week's show, we made the switch to Google+. There were a few glitches but it seems to already be working out in everyone's favor... the show went live about 4 hours ago and now the video is ready for you to watch! This definitely beats the old 4 to 5 day wait. Enjoy!
This week on Social Media Meltdown we're answering a question from one of our Facebook fans on how to get more blog readership by utilizing social media. Such a great topic, keep 'em coming guys!

Social Media Day Detroit 2012: The Interviews
This past Saturday, June 30, I attended Social Media Day Detroit at MotorCity Casino in Detroit with the rest of the Social Media Meltdown cast and crew. Alongside other fellow enthusiasts in Detroit, everyone came together to celebrate the re-birth of the city: the start-ups, the entrepreneurial spirit, the fascination with The D, and the social media that ties all these things together.
To showcase the great minds and companies in Detroit, we did a series of interviews for Social Media Meltdown with some awesome people in the industry. These interviews streamed live online during the event but in case you missed them, we've posted them here!

Social Media Meltdown #10: Geotagging
Things got a little interesting on this week's episode of Social Media Meltdown when Joe decided to stalk me via geolocation. He claims it was just trying to do a show with us in the same room but I'm not buying it! However this did bring up a very prevalent topic in the world of social media: geotagging. More and more social networks are turning to geotagging and it has been said that geolocation services is the technology to watch in 2012.
This show is brought to you by JustCoolEnough.com!
So the big question is, is this fad safe? We want to know: Do you geotag your posts? When and where are the places you won't geotag? Do you ever worry about someone stalking you by harvesting your geolocation tags?
