The time has come. 

Apple has finally confirmed the iPhone 5 with the release of the above image their media invitations to their next event that will take place on September 12. They didn't come right out and say "iPhone 5" but this image speaks louder than words--don't you think? 

There was a lot of anticipation over other products that may have been unveiled at the fall event; such as the possibly of an iPad Mini--an device covering the middle ground between an iPod and an iPad-- but it looks as though this even will stay strictly iPhone.

The Apple event is, as usual, by invite-only and will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Franciso starting at 10 a.m. Pacific Time (1 p.m. Eastern).
