Weekly Wrap Up: September 9 - 15

Here's a quick catch up on what has been happening this week in the world of social media and tech:
  • GoDaddy Outage Takes Down Millions Of Sites - Anonymous member claims responsibility (not on behalf of entire Anonymous group) as, according to many customers, sites hosted by the web host and domain registrar GoDaddy are down as of Monday. GoDaddy denies attack. Which is worse: getting attacked or going down based on your own problems?
  • Google Glass Makes Appearance at New York Fashion Week - Diane Von Furstenberg made a splash with her Spring/Summer 2013 collection that debuted Sunday during the New York Fashion Week shows — not just for her chic prints and flowing palazzo collection, but for bringing the Google Glass augmented reality glasses to the runway.
  • Microsoft to Open New Retail Stores for the Holidays - Microsoft has announced plans to open 30 “pop-up” holiday stores across the U.S. and Canada, an effort intended to drum up interest in Windows 8 and its Surface tablet ahead of the holiday shopping season... or an interest to take on the Apple store?
  • Trade In Your Old iPhone - Here's a guide on how to get the most for the trade in of your older model iPhones to get the new iPhone 5.
  • Facebook Outperforming Google in Ads - Facebook is doing a better job than Google in getting advertising clicks based on browsing history, according to partners using the social network’s ad service.
  • Apple's September Keynote - This week Apple held their September 2012 keynote, nicknamed the iPhone 5 Keynote. Besides a new model phone, Apple unveiled updates on several of their products. Watch the keynote here.
  • iPhone 5 Sells Out; Apple Delays Ship Date - iPhone 5 pre-order sells out 20x faster than 4 and 4S, further highlighting Apple’s dominance.
If you can think of anything important that was left off this list, let me know in the comments and I'll add it to the list (and give you credit, of course, for being a better reporter than myself)!
